Residents invited to share their views on the councils' approach to communications and engagement

Released: Friday, 21 February 2025

How could Adur & Worthing Councils better communicate with residents?

Our Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee (JOSC) will be exploring this question at its next meeting and is inviting residents to take part in quizzing council leaders on the topic too.

The committee is an elected watchdog, comprising councillors from across Adur and Worthing, and is responsible for holding decision-makers - both within and outside the councils - to account.

At the next meeting, which takes place on Thursday 27th February 2025 in the Gordon Room at Worthing Town Hall at 6:30pm, the committee will be scrutinising our approach to communications, engagement and participation.

Noel Hatch, assistant director for people and change, will be answering questions on the night as well as providing an overview of the communications and participation team's work and achievements in 2024, and future priorities for 2025/26.

Also up for discussion will be a review of our approach to commemorative events in Adur and Worthing, as well as feedback on the recent work of the West Sussex Health & Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee.

You can view the full agenda for the meeting here:

Questions can be submitted to the committee by emailing democratic.services@adur-worthing.gov.uk by midday on Monday 24th February, and you can attend the meeting on the night or listen back online.
